Imphal, April 08 2024: Renowned writer Wahengbam Nimachand has been honoured with the VishwaRatnaSamman2024'by the Worthy Wellness Foundation, Uttar Pradesh.

The award was presented to Wahengbam Nimachand in recognition of his contributions in the field of language & literature.

Born on November 30, 1941 to Late Wahengbam Kanhai and Wahengbam Ongbi Leibaklei of Khurai Thangjam Leikai, Wahengbam Nimachand's journey is marked by a relentless commitment towards the preservation and promotion of Manipur language & literature.

He has published a number of books including Oja (1968), Ahing (1970), Eisu Mirep Oirage (2022) and Amam Angan Langdaida (2023) .
