AMSU demands apology

All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) has sought apology from the Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur for allegedly manhandling and using abusive language on a female student of Waikhom Mani Girl's College, Thoubal, by DESAM district committee president Kh Rabi during College union election held on November 2 .
Speaking to media persons, AMSU general secretary Manjit Sarangthem said the union takes the attack on a female student seriously.
Demanding a formal apology from the alliance, the union openly refused to accept the call for talks by DESAM.
The union secretary further lamented the inaction of Thoubal police on the manhandling of the female student by the DESAM.
The union had lodged a complaint against the alliance on the day the incident occurred.
Thoubal district committee president Th Sushilkumar and the victim Ak Nikita were also present at the media briefing.
