Woman succumbs to burn injuries

Imphal, March 22 2015: A 45-year-old woman succumbed to her burn injuries she suffered when she attempted to commit suicide by setting herself on fire.

The victim, Soibam Ongbi Inaocha Devi, wife of S Tomba of Thoubal district's Wangjing Khunou died on March 20 around 7 pm at RIMS, Imphal where she had been undergoing treatment since the incident.

She attempted to commit suicide by pouring kerosene over her body and then setting herself on fire inside her house on January 21 last after she had a quarrel with her husband.

She suffered severe burn injuries in the incident.
