Imphal, August 09, 2014: Ministry of Home Affair Government of India has formally intimated the United Naga Council (UNC ) about the constitution of a Government committee on AA demand outside the Government of Manipur, reports our Ukhrul correspondent.

They jointly had agreed in principle at the 7th round of tripartite talk held at Senapati last February.

It may be mentioned that a high power committee of six members was constituted to put forward the proposal for formulation of alternative arrangement outside the GOM.

The latest letter from the Ministry dated 7th of Aug, which was duly signed by Deputy Secretary NE S Saha was sent to UNC president Adani .

GOI has accordingly taken up steps on the principle of the 7th round of tripartite talk to look into the demand of UNC, and it is in the last stage of finalization.

The dawdling responses from GOI and siege of Ukhrul town forced the UNC to impose ban on all national projects taken up in Naga's inhabited areas since August 1 .
