Imphal, June 06, 2014:
Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Chandel district has appealed to all the people of Manipur in general and Chandel district in particular to support and cooperate with its efforts to maintain peace and tranquillity in Chandel district.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, KSO Chandel district president Doumang Haokip clarified that KSO Chandel district is not against any civil organisation nor did it oppose the resolution about exerting pressure on the State Government adopted by some Kuki organisations on June 5 at a Sugnu village.
The unrest seen in Chandel district originated from the decision to open a designated camp of KNLF at Semol village under Khengjoy sub-division and objections raised against the same decision.
Instead of following a divide and rule policy, both the State Government and the Government of India should work for an amicable solution.
There is no change to the KSO Chandel's stance to work for peace and harmony in all Kuki inhabited areas of the State, Doumang added.
