Man held for making fake certificates

Imphal, November 04 2015: Police arrested a person for illegally making fake Government certificates with seals on October 31 .

According to sources, the accused has been identified as one Thisnchinmang @ Davis Mang (66) son of late Jamgin of Mission Compound in Churachandpur district.

He was arrested for issuing illegal Tribe, Income, Domicile certificates and others.

Thisnchinmang was nabbed by police near D Phailian hotel.

Several counterfeit seals and blank certificates were recovered from his procession.

The matter came light after his alleged colleague one Lamneichong wife of Mangkholien Haokip of Tuibuang was arrested on October 27 at GOFICO, Tuibuang Bazaar with a fake certificate bearing the signature of Churachandpur DC and Churachandpur SDO.

She was produce before to Chief Judicial Magistrate, Churachandpur and later granted bail by the Court.

The main accused Davis Mang has been remanded to police custody for seven days for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the recovered fake certificates and seals were produces in front of media persons at DC office.
