Imphal, October 31 2015 : National Unity Day was observed by 26 Sector Assam Rifles and under command units at various places in Chandel District to commemorate the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on Saturday.

"On the occasion, a pledge was administered to all ranks at Sector Head Quarters to resolve to dedicate ourselves to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the Nation" said a release and added that all soldiers of 26 Sector Assam Rifles participated in the event.

The uniqueness of "Unity in Diversity" was also brought out while emphasizing on the relevance of our rich culture and heritage.
