Buyer - seller meet held

In an attempt to promote handicraft and to strengthen the tie between handloom clusters and entrepreneurs of the State, Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers in association with Handicraft Artisans Co-operative Society Limited, Manipur held a one-day buyer-seller meet under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles, Handloom Cluster and Directorate of Commerce and Industries, Manipur today at Wangbal community hall.
The event was graced by IPR and MI Parliamentary Secretary Keisham Meghachandra, District Industries Centre, Thoubal general secretary Md Sabir Ahmed, Directorate H/Q Deputy Director of Handloom K Lamlee Kamei and Weaver Service Centre officer-in-charge SP Thambikar as chief guest, functional president and guests of honour respectively.
Thirteen handloom clusters under Thoubal district showcased their products during the event.
This is the second time the meet has been organised.
The first phase of the meet was held on January 27 in Bishnupur district.
The organisers will hold similar meet for the remaining districts, Imphal West, East, Ukhrul, Chandel, Tamenglong, Churachandpur and Senapati district on February 5, 10, 13, 17, 20 and 28 respectively.
An interaction programme for artisans and entrepreneurs was also held during the meet.
