Arrest unconstitutional, says CPI

Thoubal, December 27 2019: Communist Party of India, Wangjing-Tentha Local Council has observed the 94th foundation day of CPI on Thursday.

During the observance presided by com M Ibopishak Singh, the party members present condemned the arrest/rearrest of CPI Manipur State secretary L Sotinkumar in connection with the 'peaceful' protest staged against amended Citizenship Act on December 19 and demanded unconditional release of him at the earliest, said a statement issued by CPI, Wangjing-Tentha Local Council.

Stating that no one was arrested on the said date in connection with the protest in other parts of the country other than Manipur, it added that arrest of L Sotinkumar is unconstitutional.
