Imphal, March 04 2016 : Nagaram locals today staged a sit-in-protest demanding arrest of Tousem SDPO Nehemiah Chodang's killers on Dingku road.

The police officer was found murdered inside his Nagaram house on March 2 .

The protesters held placards that read "We want peace, 'Arrest and punish the killer' and 'No barbaric killing in the area' etc.

Heingang AC MLA N Biren came to the agitation site and assured the protesters that he would press the Government to arrest the culprits.

He also said that he would support the locals in bringing justice.

A woman protester said that the killers are still at large after committing the crime.

They have submitted a memorandum to the Government demanding early arrest of the killers, compensation to the bereaved family and a suitable Government job for one of the family members of Nehemiah, she said.

Nehemiah's body had been claimed by his family after post mortem at RIMS morgue yesterday.
