Drug abusers, sellers pulled up

Volunteers of Anjuman Lilong pulled up 23 people who were found using and selling drugs at Lilong Market, Thoubal district today.
Sources from Anjuman said that based on information provided by villagers that there are people who were engaging in abusing and selling drugs like highly sedative Heroin powder and SP capsule in and around Lilong Market, volunteers of the association conducted drive in the area during which 23 people were pulled up.
Later, they were brought to the association's office for interrogation.
Meanwhile, a team of Imphal West Narcotic Cell conducted raid at several alcohol vendors in and around Kakwa Market this evening and pulled up eight people including four alcohol sellers and drinkers.
During the raid, 150 litres of alcohol were also seized and later handed over to Excise Department.
