Imphal, June 30 2021: State police conducted several drives against sale of liquor in several areas of the state and seized IMFL and DIC liquor on Wednesday.

According to reports, a team of Imphal West district commando led by Jemandar Th Ronaljit arrested a man along with huge quantity of IMFL while checking an Alto car without registration number at Watham Leirak at around 7.30 am .

The arrested person has been identified as Mutum Omakanta Singh (36) son of Ibocha Singh of Heingang Mayai Leikai.

In all, 24 bottles of OC blue 375 ml, 48 bottles of OC blue 180ml and 48 bottles of McDowell's 180ml were seized from Omakanta.

Meanwhile, under the supervision of Imphal East SP N Herojit Singh, a team led by OC Narcotics Cell Kh Devkumar seized 400 litres of DIC liquor from an Eeco van without registration plate at Koirengei.

The team arrested Thoudam Loken Singh (48) son of late Anganghal of Sekmai Koujeng Leima and Khomdonbi Devi (56) wife of Soubam Ibomcha of Sekmai Makha Leikai on the charge of bootlegging.
