JNMDA troupe to present Pung Cholom

Imphal, April 16 2015 : A 17 member artiste team of JNMDA will present "Pung Cholom and Vasanta Ras" on the Indian Dancers' Festival, Hydrabad-2015 organised by Naatyasamgraha on April 19 .

In a statement issued by Administrative Officer N Ibetombi, Director JNMDA L Upendro Sharma will deliver speech on theme "Pung Cholom and Raasleela in Manipuri Culture" .

Meanwhile, 12 member Cultural troupe who had participated in the "Namaste India-2015 Festival" held at Kazakhstan and Tashkent returned to Imphal on April 12 .

The group performed Dhol Cholom, Pung Cholom and Thanga-Ta and other programmes likeManipuri Solo Dance like Krishna Vardana, Dasha Avatar and Tanum ,etc.

The programme was sponsored by ICCR and Embassies of Kazakhstan and Uzebkistan.
