Don't get confused with pseudo body, says ATSUM

Imphal, June 13 2013: In the wake of alleged befooling of people and the state government by a group of people using pseudo name of the tribal students' body, All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has appealed to the mass not to be confused and misled by vested interested leaders who use the name of the union.

In a statement, W Shinglai, Chief Election Commissioner of ATSUM said that it is very unfortunate that the so called ATSUM formed by few vested interested people is trying to fool the people and the government by threatening to call bandh and blockade in tribal areas.

This unmandated and pseudo ATSUM must be restrained from disturbing the unity of the tribals.

Informing that all former leaders of ATSUM, KSO and ANSAM including intellectuals have been sitting together for months, Shinglai announced that they have finally decided to hold a fresh election in month of June as slated by the 3rd Consultative meeting held at Senapati district headquarter on 30th May, 2013 .
