Drinking water
20 Assam Rifles provided purified drinking water to St Joseph's High School Panchai, Chandel .
Students were facing problems due to lack of drinking water facilities.
Sensing the requirement, 20 AR swung into action and provided drinking water to the school, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
Lecture programme held
24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) organised a lecture on drug and alcohol abuse at Sita village yesterday.
The programme was attended by 35 locals including women and children of Sita village.
The village folks were greatly benefited by the information given about the negative impact of drug and alcohol abuse.
The village chief and village elders commended the initiative of Assam Rifles.
The function culminated with an interaction between the Assam Rifles personnel and villagers, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
Heart screening
Manipur Heart Foundation (MHF) in association with Sky Hospital and Research Centre and Naharol Yaipha Thourang Club, Okram Chuthek conducted a free heart screening camp today at Okram Chuthek, Khongman.
According to a statement, 105 patients were screened and 65 patients were given free ECG, free blood sugar test, free medicines and free Echo.
Pen down stir
Forum of BSNL Unions/ Associations, Manipur has announced a 'pen down, tool down' strike with effect from tomorrow (Nov 5) as part of the forum's demand for transfer of GMDT.
A statement issued by the forum's convener, H Yaima Singh appealed the customers to bear the inconveniences.
