Disqualification petition
Final hearing of the disqualification petition filed by MSCP vice-president Adim Panmei against five MLAs who were elected on MSCP tickets but later merged with Congress was held today at the tribunal of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker.
After the petitioner's argument was heard today regarding the petition filed against MLA RK Imo and four others, the tribunal has fixed November 7 for hearing the respondents' arguments, informed a source.
Superannuation age enhanced
The State Govt has enhanced the age of superannuation of teachers with M Sc (Nursing) of the College of Nursing under Medical Directorate, Manipur from 60 to 62 years with immediate effect, according to a notice issued by the Dy Secretary (DP) today.
DIC notifies
The District Industries Centre has informed all the beneficiaries of PMEGP 2014-2015 (bank returned/pending case) identified by DLTFC to report to the DIC General Manager, Chandel before November 7 .
National Integration Day observed
The National Integration Day was observed by 27 Assam Rifles today at Jiribam, reports our correspondent.
Speaking at the programme, 27 AR CO Colonel H Romesh Singh said that irrespective of caste, religion and race, people of Manipur and India as a whole should have a feeling of National integrity and live in peace.
As part of the observation, a quiz competition and cultural programme were also held.
SDSA to elect new executive members
The Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) held a general body meeting and resolved to elect its new executive members within the month of November.
During the meeting, an election commission consisting of three members was also formed.
Jiri bandh
The JAC for the Protection of Tribal and Minority People's Right, Jiribam has called a bandh from the midnight of November 3 till November 5 midnight along Jiri-Imphal road and Jiri-Tipaimukh road.
The JAC also extended support to UNC's 10-day economic blockade.
Opium seized
Altogether three Kgs of contraband opium was seized by a team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) from P Kamdhenu Veng, Chura-chandpur at around 2 pm today.
The banned item was seized from the possession of one Thangkhohao.
He was riding a motorcycle towards Imphal when he was intercepted and apprehended with the opium.
Retired
Kh Tombi Singh, Store Keeper, Directorate of Printing and Stationery, Manipur got retired from service with effect from today on attaining the age of superannuation.
The Dept held a farewell meeting today in the office complex with the Director in the chair, informed a statement.
