110 oil tankers, LPG bullets Guwahati bound

Altogether 110 oil tankers and LPG bullets would leave for Guwahati to ship in fuel along Imphal-Jiribam highway tomorrow together with special security escorts.
The initiative was taken up with a view to ensure adequate supply of fuel to the people of Manipur notwithstanding the UNC's blanket ban on all vehicular movement along all National and State highways.
Meanwhile, IOC's depot Manager SI Singh today went to Guwahati and held a meeting with IOC officials there so that there are no official shackles on transshipping fuel and LPG along Imphal-Jiribam highway.
Apart from other officials, the meeting was attended by the North East Integrated Sales Office, Guwahati Deputy General Manager.

The meeting discussed about providing security escorts to Imphal-bound oil tankers while moving inside Assam.
The meeting also discussed about allowing Imphal-bound oil tankers load at Guwahati.
As decided at the meeting, around 50 loaded oil tankers and LPG bullets which were stranded at Khatkhati started moving towards Jiribam this evening.
The oil tankers and LPG bullets are being escorted so as to thwart any disruptive activities in vulnerable areas like Loharijan etc.
The convoy of 50 oil tankers and LPG bullets are expected to reach Jiribam on September 10.They would be escorted up to Imphal by the security escorts which would leave Imphal tomorrow together with a convoy of 110 oil tankers and LPG bullets.
