Imphal, April 28 2023:
Taking strong exception to the vandalisation of a venue of a planned function at Churachandpur last night, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said that the Government will not tolerate such an incident and all perpetrators involved will be dealt with appropriately.
To a query raised by the media by the sideline of the opening ceremony of the Agri Horti Expo for Organic and Indigenous Products of Manipur & Buyer Seller Meet at Hapta Kangjeibung, today, the Chief Minister responded that he and some of the Cabinet Ministers were invited to attend an anniversary programme at Churachandpur to mark the completion of first year of LM Khaute as an MLA and open a public gym.
The last night episode at Churachandpur wasn't an issue, he said.
Stating that the open gym and the venue were attacked by a group of hate mongers, N Biren maintained that he didn't go to Churachandpur on the advice of LM Khaute.
"LM Khaute had apprised me to inaugurate the gym after restoration," N Biren conveyed.
Reiterating that miscreants who destroyed the open gym will be penalised, the Chief Minister asked the people to wait and see how the Government responds to such vandalism.
The Government will face all those who challenge or obstruct the development programmes of the State, he added.
