MHA suggests anti trafficking stations

In order to empower anti-human trafficking units operating in the State and empower them to handle more cases, the Ministry of Home Affairs has suggested the State Government to convert the anti-human trafficking units into stations.
This suggestion was made during a meeting of all States presided by MHA Joint Secretary (Internal Security) Suresh Kumar a few days back.
The meeting deliberated on the practice of human-trafficking across the country and high ranking officials of Home Dept, Police and Social Welfare Department of the State attended the meeting.
As suggested by the Ministry of Home Affairs, anti-human trafficking units of Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Tamenglong would be converted into stations and they would be empowered by provided more vehicles and manpower, informed a source.
The stations would also be empowered to register cases related with human trafficking and also investigate into them.
