No let up in protest to demand Meghen's status

Imphal, November 17 2010: Demanding disclosure of the whereabouts of UNLF chairman RK Sanayaima alias Meghen, Wakat Meephams were staged at different parts today.

Some of the places where Wakat Meephams were staged include Pureiromba Market of Palace Compound, Khongman Mangjil Primary School ground, Singjamei Thongkhong, Moirangkhom Loklaobung Thongkhong, etc.

Protestors used placards with slogans like 'Reveal whereabouts of RK Meghen', 'Honour International law', 'We want political solution', 'Resolve Manipur-India political conflict democratically', etc during the Wakat Meephams.

Whereabouts of UNLF chairman RK Sanayaima alias Meghen has remained a 'top State secret' after his reported arrest in Bangladesh and subsequent handing over to Indian authorities.

Though RK Sanayaima was reportedly arrested by a combined team of India's RAW and Bangladesh police near Dhaka on September 29 last, the Government of India and its Bangladesh counterpart have not given any comment on the issue.
