Covid Response Team distributes medicines, kits to Covid volunteers

Covid Response Team (CRT) of Seva Bharati under the aegis of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) continued to reach out to Covid warriors/volunteers across the State with 'Arogya Kits and Medicine Kits'.
As a part of CRT's continued campaign, medicines and kits sponsored by Seva International were distributed to 60 volunteers from 48 villages under Sawombung block in Imphal East district today.
The distribution programme was organised at Pungdongbam Awang Leikai community hall in the presence of programme convenor, RK Dinamani Singh; Imphal Vibhag pracharak, Kh Binanda Singh and Jilla seva pramukh, Th Holendro Singh as presidium members.
The items distributed to the Covid warriors include Oximeter, digital thermometer, hand sanitizer (4 bottles- 100 ml), 3 ply masks (50 pieces), N95 mask (15 pieces), hand glove (15 pairs), face shield (5 pieces), Paracetamol 100 tablets, Vitamin and Zinc tablets, one back pack bag, PPE kits (25 times washable), soaps etc, said a press release of Covid Response Team (CRT) of Seva Bharati.

Speaking at the occasion, Th Holendro had highlighted important relief activities taken by RSS and Seva Bharati since the Covid outbreak hit the country and the State.
He said that Seva Bharati has been running an oxygen bank to provide free oxygen to Covid patients.
Moreover, Seva Bharati has been assisting home isolated patients with oxygen concentrators, he said.
Those who need oxygen concentrator may apply with the submission of Doctor's prescription, patients ID Proof, ID proof of person who will be taking home the oxygen concentrator and a security deposit of Rs 5000 which is refundable, he said.
He further stated that RSS volunteers in collaboration with Regional Research Institute for Homeopathy, New Checkon are set to distribute 10000 (ten thousand) Arsenic Album tablets.
An ambulance sponsored by Seva International will also be at service very soon, he said while adding those in need of psychological help can contact on Seva Bharati's helpline number 9856151140 .
Kh Binanda, in the meantime, encouraged the health workers to reaffirm their pledge to ensure their localities are Corona free.
Binanda also called upon health workers to be very careful about maintaining good health as their roles are immense especially during such pandemic and the health system will collapse without them.
"We can assist or help others only when we are healthy and fit," he said.
While reminding all the importance of Covid appropriate behaviours and sanitary habits, Binanda also called upon persons eligible for second dose of Covid vaccine to not missed their shots.
He also urged all parents to encourage their children towards joining yoga to improve physical fitness and immunity against possible future Covid wave.
The health workers, Covid volunteers should rejoice over their good response that had helped save lives of many from their localities, he added.
RK Dinamani on the other hand stressed on the importance of providing voluntary service to help those in need.
"As responsible citizens, we all should be ready to extend possible help and service in case of any eventuality and even 3rd wave of Covid," he said.
The latter part of the programme saw medical experts imparting training on how to use medical kits, distributed today, to the volunteers, the release continued.
