If the election manifesto of Nagaland Congress has anything that infringes upon the integrity of Manipur, MPCC would not tolerate it.
For that matter, the Centre has its own clear standpoint, the Deputy Chief Minister stated.
Reiterating that some UG cadres have conveyed their desire to law down arms and surrender to the Government, Gaikhangam remarked that it is a good sign.
To a query of the media persons, he conceded that it was not right on the part of the Government not to provide rehabilitation facilities to surrenderees when it was repeatedly calling UG cadres to come to the mainstream.
Keeping this drawback in view, the Government has identified has two/three places in Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur to build designated camps for surrendered UG cadres.
The designated camps would be constructed very shortly, he asserted.
To another question about involvement of surrendered UG cadres in criminal activities who are accommodated in Assam Rifles and Army camps, Gaikhangam stated that AR and Army authorities have been asked not to allow surrendered UG cadres get involved in any unwanted activity.
