Tamengong BJP irked by 'corruption' in ticket distribution

The State BJP leaders have been accused of indulging in massive corruption in distributing party tickets to intending candidates for the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) to be held on June 1 .
In Tamenglong district, members of the BJP unit held meetings in different parts of the district on Monday over the alleged malpractice and corruption in the ticket distribution exercise.
All members of the district BJP unit reportedly decided that they would take up further course of action in the next two-three days over the issue, sources said.
The State BJP announced names of 130 candidates on May 3 and that the party is yet to announce names of candidates the remaining segments.
The ADC polls will witness a three-cornered fight among the Congress, BJP and Naga People's Front (NPF) for the 144 seats of the six ADCs in the five hill districts.
The Congress on Monday announced names of 130 candidates, Manipur JD (U) has so far announced names of five candidates covered in the first phase and the NPF has named 78 till date.
For NPF, announcement of some more names of candidates in the next two-three days is expected.
Sources said NPF is likely to names of six more candidates.
A total of 6,88,410 voters will exercise their franchise in the ADC polls.
