Mass Covid vaccination drives conducted

Imphal, June 30 2021: A mass Covid vaccination cum awareness programme was held at the community hall of Narankonjin Mamang Leikai in Imphal West district today.

The programme was conducted by a mobile team of Chief Medical Officer, Imphal West under the aegis of District Administration Imphal West, Sub-Divisional Officer of Wangoi and Sub-Deputy Collector of Lilong Chajing, said a press release by Ideal Youth Club.

Around 400 persons attended in today's programme which was jointly organised by Ideal Youth Club, Sunflower Club and Narankonjin Sporting Club.

The local clubs also ex- tended gratitude to MLA of Langthabal AC Karam Shyam Singh for donating Rs 5,000 in today's programme and also to social worker Deepak Laiphrakpm from Maibam Leikai for providing refreshments, face masks and hand sanitizers.

On the other hand, Sub Deputy Collector of Sagolmang, Kh Jayenta inspected the vaccination drive at CHC Sagolmang today.

Speaking on the inspection visit, Kh Jayenta appealed to all to get vaccinated and said that extensive measures have been taken up by him within his revenue area in association with local clubs and leaders of localities for mass vaccination drives in Sagolmang.

He sought support and cooperation from all towards the cause.

Around 132 individuals have been vaccinated at Tiger Camp, 199 at Khundrakpam Mayai Leikai, 150 at Khundrakpam Awang Leikai and only 57 at Chanung village till date.

In today's inspection visit, Wahengbam Janmenjoy Meetei, publicity secretary ot COVID-19 Joint Task Force Pourabi and general publicity secretary of Waiton Gram Panchayat Covid Second Wave Task Force were also present.

Dr Ningombam Sanjoy, MO in charge of Sagolmang CHC said that vaccination is being done on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the CHC.

He continued that Khundrakpam AC, Khurai AC and some parts of Saikul is under CHC Sagolmang.
