Imphal, February 24 2024:
The proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) led by Koireng has clarified that the outfit is unrelated with occupation of abandoned houses at New Lambulane in Imphal as alleged by Rev S Prim Vaiphei and Hejang Kipgen through a statement issued on February 22.Strongly refuting the statement issued by Rev S Prim Vaiphei and Hejang Kipgen, publicity secretary of UNLF-Koireng M Shak-Hen said in a statement that the allegation levelled against the outfit by former residents of 2nd street and 3rd street of New Lambulane was not true and UNLF-Koireng has no connection whatsoever with occupation of land/houses.
It would have been better if Rev S Prim Vaiphei and Hejang Kipgen has mentioned in their statement about the torching of hundreds of Meetei houses in Churachandpur and Moreh by Kuki militants.
Their statement should have also mentioned about the forcible eviction of Meeteis from the two towns and bulldozing of Meetei houses or occupation of abandoned houses in Churachandpur and Moreh, the statement added.
