JAC demands punishment for culprits involved in Nanthei Panmei's death

Imphal, February 24 2024:
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the mysterious death of Nanthei Panmei (23), who was found dead on February 13, has demanded immediate arrest and award of befitting punishment to the culprit(s) involved in the case.
In a press meet held at Manipur Press Club, here, on Saturday, JAC convenor Sapin Panmei raised suspicions of foul play in the death of Nanthei Panmei s/o Paokhon Panemi of New Keithelmanbi.
He informed that on February 12, Nanthei left with one Himen Rimei but was found dead the next day, as was informed to his family.
His lifeless body was found in the courtyard of one Papao Vaiphei in Morbung village, Longa Koireng Plan.
Nanthei's body bored countless bruises and wounds.
Raising suspicion of foul play, Sapin said that if both Himen and Papao were arrested and questioned, the perpetrators behind Nanthei's death could be identified.
As such, he urged the authorities to find the two people at the earliest so as to reveal the truth.
Informing that New Keithelmanbi PS did not register an FIR in connection with Nanthei's death, he urged the authorities concerned to take up requisite actions and investigate the case so as to reaffirm the rule of law in this land.
