Assurance of peace lies within peoples, not Govt alone: JTSA

The Joint Tribe Students' Association (JTSA) has vehemently condemned the inhumane and brutal killing of Late Athuan Abonmai on Friday.
A release issued by JTSA stated that the assurance of peace lies within the peoples, not with the Government or any administration alone.
"Inculcating to respect every human values should be the sole intention and mission in a peace loving democratic society & we should pursue and encourage it", it added.
The student body also mentioned that love, harmony and peace should be given a chance as witnessed for so long under the present administration of the State while adding that the State Government had always prioritized the interest of the people.
JTSA expressed gratitude to every individual, Churches, CSOs from diverse communities condemning the horrific incident and urged all to work sincerely bridging gap of misunderstanding and confusion, allow the law of the land to govern, take its own course of action for lasting peace, easy and early delivery of justice to victims of every inhumane and barbaric act without bias.
"While condemning the brutal killing of the tribal leader, it is unfortunate to learn about the demands for resignation of Chief Minister, suspension of Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong and Superintendent of Police Tamenglong by some organisations", it said.
The student body also appealed to the State Government to provide adequate ex-gratia and suitable Government jobs for the bereaved family on humanitarian ground.
It also appreciated the Ministry of Home Affairs CTCR Division, Government of India and Government of Manipur for conferring NIA to investigate (L) Athuan Abonmai's case.
JTSA further urged the Government and like-minded CSOs to leave aside every individual, group and political interest and ideologies, and assist to expedite for early performing of last rites on humanitarian ground as per the customs.
