'Village volunteers keep Imphal running amidst crisis'

Imphal, February 24 2024:
Acknowledging that the selfless service being rendered by the village volunteers in the foothills of the state is keeping the Imphal city running and enabling its inhabitants to carry on their routine works, Educational Research Centre (ETEREC) Imphal president Sobita Soubam has called for respecting the village volunteers.
She was speaking while attending the 2tst foundation day of ETEREC held at the Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai residence of its secretary Okendro Khundongbam on Tuesday.
Sobita highlighted the contribution of village volunteers and Meira Paibi members as well as the hardships being faced by the common people in the current crisis, and said that people from different walks of life are contributing in helping one another for the cause of defending the state and its territory.
She also appreciated the contributions of writers in the current crisis as well.
Secretary Okendro Khundongbam highlighted the works of ETEREC and said that the organisation will provide assistance to victim families of the crisis.
Popular lyricists Doneshwar Konsam, Thingbaijam Swarankumar and Biramangol College associate professor Dr Laishram Landhoni attended the occasion as special guests.
