Shutdown, protest in Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi, April 16 2024:
The protest rally and 24-hour total shutdown called by the Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) against the killing of two Kuki village volunteers crippled normal life in Kangpokpi district as business establishments remained closed and vehicular movement were restricted.
Thousands of Kuki-Zo people mostly women took part in a massive protest rally from Motbung to Gamgiphai raising slogans like 'Bihar Regiment Down, Down', 'N Biren Singh, Shame, Shame', 'We demand NIA inter vention,' 'Separate Administration Now,' and 'No Separate Administration, No Solution'.
Meanwhile, Kuki Inpi Manipur and various other organisations including ITLF, KWOHR, KSO Sadar Hills, TYA Sadar Hills also condemned the murder of two village volunteers at Phailengmol area on April 13 .
