Macha Leima condemns burning of office

Condemning the burning of its head office located at Konung Mamang on Friday night, Macha Leima president Wangkheimayum Amusana questioned whether the miscreants came to burn down the office or steal stuffs from it.
Speaking to media persons at Macha Leima office on Saturday, Amusana said that in addition to burning of its head office on Friday night, the miscreants stole Rs 50,000, five gas cylinders, 30 chairs, three laptops, two desktop computers, two printers, one Photostat machine, school uniforms, 3,000 exercise books and even a big wok.
As the organisation has been working only for the welfare of the society, there is no adversary or any misunderstanding with any organisation or individual.
So, there is no idea as to why such vandalism took place, she stated.
As narrated by local meira paibis who were present near the office, several armed individuals broke into the gate of Macha Leima, where a school and micro finance unit are being managed.
Showing their weapons they dragged out the family of the chowkidar, and also did not let any locals to come inside the gate, she conveyed, while adding that the miscreants after putting the items from the office in their vehicles, burnt the remaining, ones by pouring petrol.
They not only burnt down a van kept inside the campus of Macha Leima and also misplaced all the documents related with loan, she rued.
