IMA to honour senior doctors

Indian Medical Association Manipur State Branch (IMA MSB) will observe the National Doctor's Day on Thursday.
A joint statement issued by IMA MSB president Dr S Jugindra and secretary Dr Ng Arunkumar Singh highlighted that Doctor's Day 2021 is very special as it is being observed in the backdrop of the present pandemic where more than 1500 doctors of the country including 12 doctors from Manipur laid down their lives in the fight against COVID.
The IMA has decided to dedicate the day to the 'COVID Martyrs' by paying homage to them.
The association has also decided to honour all the frontline COVID doctors who have dedicated their lives to the supreme service of humanity, it said.
Further, seven seniors doctors who have contributed much to the healthcare of the state are also being honoured.
The senior doctors to be honoured are Dr M Angamla, Dr Sanasam Mema Devi, Dr Th Laxmikanta Sharma, Dr N Jitendra Singh, Dr Th Sudhirchandra Singh, Dr O Ibomcha Singh and Dr Ak Khamba Singh, it informed.
The observance of Doctor's Day 2021 is being organised online under the theme "Save the Saviours".
Prime Minister of India will also address the Medical Fraternity of the country on the occasion of Doctor's Day, it added.
