Defence ministry official calls on Governor

Imphal, April 08 2024: Spokesperson and PRO of Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, Ministry of Defence (MoD) Lt Col Amit Shukla on Monday called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan, here and briefed her on measures taken up by the Ministry of Defence especially Army and Assam Rifles to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur.

In a statement, Raj Bhavan informed that during the meet the Governor highlighted communication gap between the Army and the public in the initial days of the ethnic strife and urged for relentless activities of the Army to reach to the public.

The PRO responded by assuring that all the propagandas and false news will be countered with facts timely, the release continued, adding that Governor Anusuiya commended the role of the Army and Assam Rifles in restoring peace and normalcy in Manipur.
