Malem Thongam reveals protest plan

Transgender activist Malem Thongam, who was denied meeting with BJP State president A Sharda by security personnel on Sunday, stated that he would be protesting at BJP's Nityaipat Chuthek office with support of women before the Lok Sabha election.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club, here, on Sunday, Malem said that in continuation of his agitation for restoration of peace in different parts of the state, he submitted a memorandum to Uripok MLA Kh Raghumani on Sunday and proceeded towards the BJP office to submit the same to BJP state president A Sharda but denied entry into the office by the security personnel.
While expressing discontentment over the attitude of the people's representatives to listen to voice of the people, the transgender activist said that he had been planning to meet the MLAs and pressing them to seek intervention of the Prime Minister to restore peace in the state.
However, due to the election code of conduct, the plan has been changed and submission of memorandum to the MLAs taken up.
Malem Thongam further informed that his appointment with the state BJP president was taken, however, when at the BJP office, a police team prohibited him from entering the office on Sunday.
