International Day for victims of torture

Human Rights Initiative for indigenous advancement and conflict resolution has called for a united effort in making Manipur free of human rights violation.
The appeal comes ahead of the International Day in support of victims of torture t be held on June 26.In a press release from the organisation it is mentioned that Manipur is facing a lot of human rights violation starting from right to life where thousands of people have lost their lives in fake encounters and many widows are hardships.
HRI also said that the central government is taking up immediate measure when 18 Indian Army were killed in an ambush but failed to bring justice to victims of many fake encounters so far.
It is also reminded that the secretary general of United Nations had called for help to the victims of torture or their next kin but things are very different in Manipur, claimed HRI.
It is also mentioned that nepotism is one big factor of human rights violations as the poor beneficiaries are deprived of their right.
It is not only the physical torture but the mental trauma as well in affecting people's life for which the government should stay honest, says HRI.
