Joyshree Usham of Impact News conferred RK Sanatomba award

Associate editor Joyshree Usham of Impact News has been conferred the 18th RK Sanatomba Journalist Award, 2021 .
As encouragement to journalists of the state, RK Sanatomba Memorial Trust formed in the name of late journalist and former editor of Kangla Lanpung RK Sanatomba has been conferring award to outstanding journalists of the state.
Every year the award is presented on June 30, the day RK Sanatomba expired.
Though presentation of the award was held in grand manner in the past with a memorial lecture, this year's event was held in a subdued manner at the residence of late RK Sanatomba at Konung Leikai due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The award presentation ceremony, however, was held with strict adherence to government issued SOPs.
The award carrying a citation, a shawl (Lengyanphi) and Rs 25,000 in cash was conferred to Joyshree Usham in recognition to her reportage on crime against women with special emphasis on widows and female sex workers.
Joyshree Usham is eldest daughter of Usham Dhananjoy and Usham Ongbi Shimrichon of Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai and she topped arts stream of class XII examination conducted by CoHSEM in 2001 and completed graduate and masters from Delhi University.
She joined Impact TV in 2017.She is also working as a teacher.
