Four persons killed in road mishaps

Imphal, June 06, 2014: At least four persons were killed and seven others injured in three separate accidents.

In an accident involving an auto-rickshaw and a Maruti Swift car at Bishnupur Oil Pump along Tiddim Road at around 8.30 am yesterday, the driver of the auto-rickshaw was killed, while five others including film actress Leishangbam Merina were injured.

The deceased driver has been identified as Katasinpou Pamei (50) of Loktak Project.

In another accident occurred at Yurembam in Imphal West at around 1 pm yesterday, a Tata truck knocked down a motorcyclist to death while injuring two other pillion riders.

The deceased person is identified as Sunilkumar (18), s/o Inaobi.

Two persons, identified as Kangjam Tomba (60) of Ithai Mayai Leikai and Leishangthem Damu (60) of Wangoo were also knocked down to death by a Tata Winger at Kumbi at around 7.30 am on June 4 .
