ATSUM should withdraw blockade: Gaikhangam

Home Minister Gaikhangam has appealed ATSUM to withdraw the indefinite economic blockade imposed on National Highways as 80 percent of the demands had been already granted.
He also mentioned that bandh and blockades are unreasonable as everything could be worked out over talks and discussions.
Gaikhangam in an interaction with media persons disclosed that the demand of ATSUM for formation of Scheduled Tribe commission has been accomplished as the process is nearing completion.
The home minister said that steps have been taken up to identify the culprits involved in the burning of a truck and action will be taken up soon.
He also appealed the groups imposing the counter economic blockade to withdraw the same.
On the assault of President of Mao Council, Kohima the home minister said that the incident was unfortunate and assured of appropriate steps in dealing with the case.
He also said that the State government stood for safeguarding its territory and said Manipur does not want to encroach on any land in Nagaland.
He pointed out that security force personnel had been deployed in Dz�kou to safeguard and protect the land and properties of the State.
