Union urges re-inquiry into reinstatement order

Imphal Urban Bank Cooperative Bank Share Holders' Union has urged the State Government to constitute an re-inquiry into the order issued for reinstatement of the General Manager and Banking Manager of the only regional bank in the North East.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, president of the union, Sh Rajen said that acting on a complain filed by the union, the General Manager and Banking Manager of the bank were placed under suspension for going against the guidelines of RBI.
He said that an inquiry team was constituted and the investigation started before the end of the three months suspension period which is against the laid-out guidelines.
He alleged that reinstatement order of the General Manager was issued without the approval of the concerned Registrar.
The letterhead of the reinstatement order was of Registrar Cooperative while the signature was of Urban Cooperative, he pointed out.
Quoting Inspection Report 2017 of RBI, Rajen said that necessary action is to be taken up against the General Manager and Banking Manager of the bank for their authoritarian style of working.
