NWUC demands transfer of DPO ICDS

Imphal, June 06, 2014: Naga Women Union Chandel (NWUC) has demanded transfer of the District Project Officer of ICDS, Social Welfare Department from the district.

Talking to media in this regard, President of NWUC Lh Bliss said that during the last International Women Day observation organized jointly with Chandel district women organization, Social welfare department had approved sanctioning of Rs 10,000 to the organizing committee.

However, till date, the money had not been received from the District Project Officer, ICDS, Mangijao Devi.

The President further alleged Mangijao Devi of irregularity and unaccountability in her work and said she is a very difficult officer of the district to meet.

NWUC has also reportedly apprised the matter to the Deputy Commissioner for taking up necessary actions against the DPO ICDS.
