Imphal, February 23 2009: Thoubal police commandos apprehended five activists of different underground outfits during the last 48-hour in separate parts of the Thoubal district, a statement of the SP of the district, Clay Khonsai said today.Among the apprehended activists two are PREPAK while remaining are one each of PLA, KCP and UNLF and members of the finance section of the outfits they belongs to except one of the PREPAK activists who has been alleged of harbouring cadres of PREPAK, the statement said.

The UNLF activist was nabbed by the commandos of the district from Kakchnig Kedajit Pareng yesterday at around 4 pm.

He was identified as Moirangthem Noren (31) son of M Sajou of locality where he was nabbed.The commandos apprehended the KCP activists namely Soibam Inao alias Premjit (36) son of Ibocha of Thoubal Achouba from Sekpi Khongnangkhong.

The PLA activist named Laishram Kanhai (33) son of L Ningthem of khangabok Mayai Leikai part-II was also nabbed by the police commandos of the district during a frisking and checking operation at Wangjing area on the same.

Of the two PREPAK cadres, one identified as Yumnam Kumarjit (37) son of Y tomba of Kiyam was apprehended yesterday from Kiyam Lai Haraobam.

He harboured cadres of PREPAK.

The other PREPAK activist named Thokchom Shyamkanhai alias son of Thoiba of Thoubal Wangmataba was nabbed today at around 6.30 am from Thoubal Wangmataba Mathak Leikai.
