Auto driver thrashed for attempted rape

Imphal, January 14 2013: An auto driver was thrashed soundly by local people today in a place in Imphal after he had attempted to commit a sexual abuse on a school girl.

Reports said auto-rickshaw driver Mayanglambam Premjit (22) son of M.Gulapi of Kakching Khunou Bazaar of Thoubal district, presently staying at Tera Bazaar in a rented house offered a lift to a class VI student at around 10 am.

The innocent girl agreed and jumped into the auto-rickshaw.

When they reached a place near D.M College the student requested the auto-driver to halt but the latter did not pay any heed.

He took her to many places and when they reached at a place called Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, the driver asked the girl to kiss his genital.

The frightened girl jumped out of the autorickshaw and ran for her life.

She slipped and at that moment a man after seeing the girl in a state of shock, asked her the reason.

The girl revealed everything.

The locals in no time caught the driver and beat him before handing him to the police.

The registration number of the auto he came by driving was MN06S7776 .
