Kohima, February 24 2016:
Five Naga groups have expressed concern on the move by Parliamentary Working Committee (PWC) of Nagaland Joint Legislators' Forum to approach leaders of National political parties seeking their support in early resolution of the vexed Naga political problem.
In a joint statement, the five groups demanded that the PWC clarify to the people ofNagaland whether the terms ofthe agreement are available to them.
NSCN (Khole/Kitovi), NNC/FGN (S Singnya/Zhopra Vero), NNC (Z Royim/V Nagi), NNC N/A (Kiumukam/ Hangping) and NNC N/A (Temjenyanger/Hozheto) held a meeting yesterday and criticised the PWC for 'blindly' propagating the Framework Agreement.
The Framework Agreement was signed by the Centre and NSCN(IM) on August 3 last year for lasting peace in Nagaland.
The joint statement asked the PWC to clarify on who endorsed them to take the name of stakeholders when no consultations were initiated at any level.
It also asked the PWC to define how the agreement is going to benefit the people of Nagaland and how the agreement with NSCN (IM) is going to bring the final solution to the Naga political problem without the knowledge of the people.
