Imphal, May 23 2016:
BJP MLA Kh Joykishan has questioned the alleged detention of a police Inspector for checking a vehicle belonging to one key leader of Congress party who also happens to be a relative of Chief Minister O Ibobi.
He was speaking at a flag hoisting ceremony of BJP candidate IMC Ward No 3 Hijam Nutanchandra.
He demanded that the Government should come out with a convincing explanation for lodging the Inspector in the lock-up for checking a particular vehicle.
Ironically, the Government did not take any action when a police personnel dragged a girl student by the hair in the course of the public agitation for enactment of ILPS or similar mechanism in the State on the ground that initiation of any punitive action would demoralise the whole police force.
Asking why the particular police Inspector was lodged in the lock-up for doing his duty, Joykishan questioned whether such victimization of the police officer would encourage or demoralise police force.
The way the particular Inspector has been victimized is an insult to the whole police force.
It's time for all police officers and personnel to raise a strong voice against the Government.
IMC election is a crucial battle between two political parties, one which is committed to ensure welfare of future generations while the other is committed to swindling public money, claimed the MLA.
He then called upon all the people to wipe out the dictatorial Congress Government.
He exuded confidence that there would be a BJP Government in the State after the Assembly election of 2017 .
Joykishan further appealed to all the people living within the jurisdiction of IMC to elect BJP candidates and defeat the muscle and money power of Congress party as done in the by-election to two Assembly segments last year.
