The Upendra Commission which is probing into the June 18 and July 20 anti ceasefire incidents has today conducted spot inquiry at various spots relating to the June 18 incident.
Retd District & Sessions Judge Ch Upendra Singh who headed the Commission along with a battery of counsels appearing on behalf of all the parties, members of the press and police officials at first visited the State Assembly Secretariat today.
The Commission team entered the premises of the Assembly Complex and studied the recreation hall, bank, library, press section, Speaker�s office chamber and some others destroyed by the fire.
Later, the probe team also visited the official bungalows of the Speaker Dr Sapam Dhananjoy, former Ministers Prof Gangumei Kamei, Ashangbam Biren and H.Sanayaima besides the office buildings of Congress (I) and the Manipur People�s Party (MPP).
All the structures of the official residences of the official residences of the MLAs were badly damaged by the fire occurred during the public uprising against the extension of ceasefire to the State.
While having a closer look at the damaged official bungalow of the speaker, the visiting Commission team members found a large member of empty bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).
It will also conduct another round of spot enquiry at the Chief Minister�s Secretariat and some other official quarters of MLAs at Babupara on September 10, a source said.
MHRC: the State DGP AA Siddique has recently submitted the reports of the June 18 incidents to the Manipur Human Rights Commission.
According to a Commission source, the reports included FIRs of the cases, post mortem report as well as the photographs of the deceased persons.
The rights body repeatedly asked the official to submit the same on a suo-motto case taken up by it.
