17 hospitalised after consuming Hawaizar

Imphal, December 30 2011: At least 17 people have been hospitalized of food poisoning after consuming the local favourite, Hawaizar (Fermented soyabeans) .

All the 17 people hail from Khurai Thoudam Leikai and they have been admitted to JNIMS at around 5 pm today.

They have been identified as Tonambam Mema (65), T Purnima (45), T Sandip (20), T Tombisana (18), T Dinesh (18), T Saya (18), Daina (18), T Renu (44), T Ibetombi (50), Ngairangbam Chanbi (22), Ng Omega (25), Ng Ronibala (16), Ng Kunje (50), Ng Romila (22), Ng Chaoba (24), Tominou.

Some of them have been reportedly discharged after necessary treatment.
