Bpr/Chandel/ Tml, January 25 2018: The 8th National Voters' Day under the theme 'Accessible Election' was observed at SSA Hall of ZEO, Bishnupur today.

The observation was organized by the District Election Office, Bishnupur.

DEO and DC, Bishnupur Pawan Yadav, and ADC N Gojendro graced the observation as chief guest and president respectively.

As part of the observation, voter cards were distributed to three boys and three girls.

Meanwhile, Chandel district administration also observed the 8th National Voters' Day followed by launching of Electoral Literacy Club of the district at DRDA Hall, Mini Secretariat, Chandel today.

Speaking on the occasion, DC, Chandel Krishnakumar (IAS) said that a single vote can bring forth development and peace in a country.

He encouraged the young voters to vote sensibly as their vote will decide the future of the country.

The DC handed over EPIC to the newly enrolled voters of the district and presented certificates to the winners of District Election Quiz 2018 .

Later, with a view to raise awareness about the importance of election, Dr A Chinglenkhomba Meetei, ERO/ Chandel launched Electoral Literacy Club of the district in the presence of young voters and DLOs.

The District Election Office, Tamenglong also celebrated the day at the premises of DC's office, Tamenglong HQs with DC Armstrong Pame as the chief guest.

The National Voters' Day Pledge was also administered by the DC and EPIC cards were also distributed to the new voters.

District Level Officers, students and other CSOs leaders were present in the celebration.
