999 m3 of timbers transported from Chandel: Minister Devendra

Imphal, June 13 2013:
Forest and Environment Minister Th Devendra has said that 999.899 cubic metres of timbers were transported from Chandel during 2012-13 .
He was replying to a question asked by MLA P Brojen during the Question Hour of the ongoing 5th Session of 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly today.
Minister Devendra further said that the timbers collected by the Forest Department have been sold out to various wood-based small industries approved by a high-power Committee of the State government through public auction.
Mangalam Plywood Industries has procured 300 cubic metres of timbers from the auction, he noted.
Replying to MLA Th Shyamkumar's question, Agriculture Minister Md Nasir said that the State government has taken up all possible measures to ensure availability of fertilizers to the farmers at subsidized rates timely.
Urea fertilizer has also been made available to the farmers at subsidized rates, he added.
Answering to a query raised by MLA Kh Joykishan, Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar said that six works have been implemented at Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency under the 13th Finance Commission during 2012-13.The works were taken up as per action plan of the Finance Commission and recommendations of public leaders.
Most of the works have been completed, he added.
Replying to another query raised by MLA K Sarat, Works Minister Ratankumar said that the construction of SDC Office under Konthoujam Assembly Constituency has been completed at a sanctioned amount of Rs.14,74,354 .
