Guardians press for starting peace talks with UPPK

The Guardian Association of United People's Party of Kangleipak (UPPK), which has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Government and the Government of Manipur to start peace talks, has been floated.
The Guardian Association was formed after a meeting held at MDU hall Yaiskul Police Lane here today.
Ng Labango has been appointed as the President of the Association while L Ibohalbi as its General Secretary.
The meeting was attended by Ng Labango, L Ibohalbi, H Munal, L Gourahari, M Ratankumar, Kh Mohendro, Y Tombi, L Bina, Rupa Devi, E Sanahalbi and M Hemabati as presidium members.
Delivering the key note address of the meeting, S Ratankumar stated that the Guardian Association of UPPK has been formed with the main objective ensuring peaceful living among the cadres of UPPK who have come out to join the mainstream.
He further stated that the Guardian Association will press the State Government to start peace talk process with UPPK at the earliest possible.
It is not known what the surrendered cadres of UPPK are doing and how are they living at present.
Under such a condition, the guardians of the surrendered cadres cannot remain silent and decided to form the Guardian Association.
He further appealed to the State Government not to let the cadres of UPPK loss their trust repose on the Chief Minister, the Home Minister and other top officials of the State Government, and let the peace talk begins and help the cadres to settle down in life peacefully.
Today's meeting, which was also attended by family members of the surrendered UPPK cadres from Assam, further resolved to put into action the MoU signed between the three parties (UPPK, State Government and the Centre) so as to start the peace talk at the soonest possible.
