ZSU Tamenglong appeals to AIs, Headmasters, teachers

Imphal, December 07 2014: With regard to the pursuance for District Co-ordinators (DCos) in charge of SSA, Tamenglong by the former DCos (AIs, Headmasters of schools and Teachers) who were earlier replaced by the recruited SSA contractual staff vide order No.4/138/2014-ED/SSA (TML) dated March 28, 2014, the Zeliangrong Students' Union, Tamenglong District (ZSUTD) urged the AIs, head masters and teachers to focus on their duties and leave the rest that is to be done by the SSA staff who were recruited for the said posts.

According to ZSUTD, with specific instructions directed by the office of the State Project Director, SSA/SMA, Manipur to the Deputy Commissioner/Chairman DBE to suitably allot the recruited staff of SSA and streamlined SSA-RTE guidelines and deploy them with immediate effect, in line with the direction, the then DC has replaced the former DCos with the recruited SSA staff.

But the people of Tamenglong district are surprise to learn that the former DCos were running from pillar to post to re-instate themselves as DCos.

It is a matter of great concerned that the AIs, Teachers have diverted from their works and concerned only about money.

This would have great negative impact on the future of the students of the Tamenglong district.

Mention may be made for kind information of all concerned that, (The Gazette of India, Part-II, the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act) stated that no teacher posted in a school shall be made to serve in any other school or office or deployed for any non-educational purpose other than decennial population census, disaster relief duties or duties relating to election to the local authority or the state legislature or parliament as the case may be.

"And therefore, the responsibility and sensibility of the concerned authority is required to take up appropriate action, taking into consideration the welfare of the student community in particular and not the former utilize DCos prior to the recruitment of the SSA staff who are otherwise interested in monetary gain out of the fund allotted for the marginalize student community of the district.

The students community of the district will not remain a silent spectator of any prejudiced verdict and order which could jeopardized the student community," ZSUTD added.

"Therefore, we urge the esteemed office of the deputy commissioner/DBE and authority concerned dealing in this matter to maintain status quo of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), District Board of Education and order issued by the then Deputy Commissioner/DBE Tamenglong in order to fulfill the humble mission of SSA-RTE in the district.

Deviating from the guidelines and order issued earlier by the then DC would face the wrath of the students community and people of the district," the ZSUTD said.
