Two persons die in separate incidents

Imphal, July 11 2012: A 50-year old man was beaten to death even as a non Manipuri committed suicide by hanging himself yesterday afternoon.

The 50-year old man identified as Khaidem Subon of Nongdam Maning Leikai was beaten by some persons from New Sairem village and he succumbed to internal injuries at his home.

Subon was beaten in a liquor joint after two parties from Nongdam and New Sairem villages got in a brawl at around 2 pm yesterday.

Later, he vomited a large amount of blood and succumbed to his injuries at around 7.30 pm.

As soon as news of his death spread, Nongdam villagers got infuriated and tension ran high.

However, timely interruption of police managed to bring the situation under control.

Police have rounded up two persons involved in the brawl.

The dead body of Subon is still laying at the mortuary of JNIMS hospitals.

On the other hand, a Non Manipuri tenant identified as Suraj Ghoshfrom West Bengal was found dead hanging inside his rent room at Thangal Keithel at around 1 pm yesterday.

The reason behind the suicide is not known yet.
